Credit where credit is due

Firstly I have to say that is NOT me in my title picture. That is Anne Moss on her horse Helium. Rather unwittingly (I'm sure) Anne has been my inspiration ever since she started writing her column "C U @ X" in the Balance magzine.

I have that picture up in my tack room to inspire me and to keep in mind what I am aiming for - competing in registered dressage aside.

I intend this blog to be a journal to chart our progress as my wee horse (Molly) who has never seen a sidesaddle before, and me (with only a couple of rides under my belt) set off on our journey.

We have our first sidesaddle lesson this weekend, and I will post how Molly reacts after that. Hopefully she will take to the sidesaddle, otherwise I'm rather stuck...!

  1. I am friends with Anne, and she's been my inspiration as well. Helium looks so steady and reliable in this photo, but in reality he can be a real handful when he's lit. Anne can have a really bad test, but she just shrugs it off and trots back down center line the next day just as upbeat and cheerful as ever. It's that attitude that I most admire about her. If I score less than 60 I'm too ashamed to show my face in public for a good month. Anne doesn't let anything bother her and keeps on going.
